I absolutely love the Beyond Braid Blue Wave 30 lb braided line! The color looks amazing and really stands out on my reel. It has such a clean, beautiful look, especially when paired with my setup. The line feels strong and smooth, and I’m really happy with how it performs while fishing. Overall, it’s a great-looking braid with the strength and quality I was looking for. Line is awsome!! Smooth casting and I don’t see the fray I do with others. The color does come off. But no biggie. It ties easier than other line and I’m getting older and my eye sight is going so that helps. Anyone got any tips for salt water around Beaufort I’m kinda new to it

Blue Wave braid and flourocarbon lead have worked well in the gulf coast off Texas for the past year. Lots of pompano, jack crevalle, redfish and skipjack taken in surf. No regrets and looks good too.

This 80 lb triblue is as tough as nails. Catching Five ft Tarpon and Barracuda under the pilings (loaded with barnacles) off my dock, this line has served me well (meaning no fraiding). Also have purchased and used successfully for Mangrove and medium Jack Crevalle, the 20 lb green camo has also been a huge benefit. Your product has proven itself time and again ! Rob R. I used 20lb blue wave on my last outing in the mangroves fishing redfish and snook. It held up really well. The knot strength was superb and the sensitivity was fantastic. Paired with a 30 lb. Beyond fluorocarbon leader it held up extremely well it the mangrove roots. I highly recommend these two product.

Customer video review of Blue Wave 300-2000 Yard Spools

I bought the 2000' roll of beyond braid and spooled it onto all of my heavy boat rods. I'm very impressed by the strength and quality. There's zero memory with this line ( yes I had a previous brand that did get memory). I can still tie all the normal knots with it. The catch in the video is a 7' shark and as you can see by my pole it was putting up a good fight. I was afraid the rollers were going to blow out but they didn't. I'll definitely be buying more and would highly recommend it 👌. My brother who was taking the video was so impressed he's ordering some too. LOVING IT SO FAR

I have your braid on all 6 of my saltwater rods and this is the first time I noticed a defect. While spoiling with my normal spoiler I got a few hundred yards on and noticed the braid had 2 Spots that look like they were not woven correctly or they were spliced poorly. Super Disappointed! If you check my account you will see I have made multiple purchases to get ready for the season. Please advise

I’ve been buying this product for a couple of years now, it’s my favorite. I really like the blue colors, help with strike indicators and watching lure sink to the bottom. It’s tough and durable.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Blue Wave is our segmented blue camo. The changing color breaks up the outline of the line in open water instead of showing one solid streak, which is why it works so well in clear lakes and blue saltwater.

Eight strands are woven tighter and rounder, so 8X is thinner for the same pound test, slicker through the guides, quieter on the cast, and it flies farther. Four strands weave flatter and squarer, which makes 4X a little grabbier on rock and shell and easier on the wallet. Simple rule: throwing light lures on spinning gear or chasing casting distance, take 8X. Fishing heavy cover, dragging bottom, or filling several reels on a budget, 4X is the workhorse. Both use the same PE fiber and the same diameter chart.

This is a dyed multi-color line, so after a full season of hard sun and heavy use the tones do soften. It does not cost you any strength, and the pattern still does its job in the water. If zero fading is what you are after, our 8X No Fade series locks the color into the fiber instead of coating it on.

This one is offered in 8lb, 10lb, 15lb, 20lb, 30lb, 40lb, 50lb, 60lb, 80lb, 100lb. As a starting point: 8 to 15lb for trout, panfish, and finesse, 20 to 30lb for bass and all-around freshwater, 30 to 50lb for inshore snook, reds, and trout, 50 to 65lb for heavy inshore and light offshore, 80lb and up for offshore and big structure. Diameters: 8lb at 0.10mm, 10lb at 0.12mm, 15lb at 0.16mm, 20lb at 0.20mm, 30lb at 0.28mm, 40lb at 0.32mm, 50lb at 0.37mm, 60lb at 0.40mm, 80lb at 0.48mm, 100lb at 0.55mm. This one comes in 300 Yards, 500 Yards, 1000 Yards, 2000 Yards. A 300 yard spool fills one average reel. 500 yards covers one big reel or two smaller ones. The 1000 yard and 2000 yard bulk spool is for filling several reels at once and works out to the lowest cost per yard. Braid is thinner than mono at the same rating, so most anglers step up a size from the mono they used to run and still gain casting distance.

For braid to leader, the FG knot is the strongest and thinnest and it passes through guides cleanly. A double uni with 6 to 8 wraps per side is easier on the water and holds fine under 30lb. Straight to a hook or lure, use a Palomar tied with doubled line. Wet every knot before you cinch it, because a dry knot burns and that is where most break-offs actually happen. When you spool up, keep firm tension on the line the whole way, use mono backing or a strip of tape on a bare arbor so the braid cannot slip, and stop about an eighth of an inch below the spool lip. An overfilled spool is the real cause of most wind knots people blame on the line.

Braid is slick enough to spin on a bare spool. Either lay down a short mono or fluoro backing and join it with an FG or double uni knot, or wrap a strip of electrical tape around the bare arbor first. Then spool under steady tension with the line coming off the filler spool the same direction it goes onto your reel, which is what keeps wind knots from showing up on your first cast.

Much thinner at the same strength, usually right around half the diameter. That is the whole point: you pack far more line onto the same reel, you cut through wind instead of ballooning in it, and you cast noticeably further. Exact diameters for every pound test in this line are listed in the size chart on this page.

No. Modern guide inserts handle braid without any trouble. What actually shreds line is a guide insert that is already chipped or cracked. Run a cotton swab around the inside of each guide once a season, and if it snags a fiber, replace that guide before it costs you a fish.

Not with nail clippers, and not with a knife. Braid is a PE fiber that frays and rolls away from a dull edge instead of cutting, so you end up with a mashed end that will not pass through a knot cleanly. Use a dedicated braid scissor with serrated blades for a square cut, and your knots will seat right the first time.

Braid outlasts mono by a wide margin, so most anglers get multiple seasons out of one spool. The last stretch of line takes nearly all the abuse, so before you replace the whole thing, strip off the first 20 to 30 yards and retie. When the line starts feeling fuzzy well down the spool, or you have lost enough to hurt your capacity, it is time. You can also pull the line off, reverse it end for end, and respool to get a full second life out of it.
