Perfect to catch more fish
Made the switch to Beyond Braid line and will not go back to any other brand. The 15lb fluoro leader is strong and disappears in the water, making it great for my pre-tied Hi-Lo rigs. The 8x braid makes for smooth casting with no wind knots and is invisible to fish up here in the Northeast coastal waters and Long Island Sound. I go out regularly with a few guys and only Beyond Braid line and leaders are used on that boat for consistent catches with no issues. Highly recommend.
Spoiled on a Penn squall 2 SQLI30LWLH. I normally use powerpro braid. I like the color change in line every 10 yards. The coating on the line feels solid. I plan on surf fishing for small sharks with this reel. So far pretty impressed with this beyond braid. Can’t wait to put this line to the test. I likely will be a returning customer.

Good braid, holds color
I use pink or clear fluorocarbon topshot with blue wave braid for surf fishing. Adds a 4 foot tough leader for debris or seaweed that may collect on line and its transparent to fish. Happy with the result.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Braid is thin and strong but it is visible in the water and has almost zero stretch. A fluorocarbon leader disappears underwater, takes the abrasion from teeth, rocks, and structure, and absorbs the shock of a hard hookset so the fish does not pull off. Run 18 to 36 inches for most freshwater and inshore fishing, and go longer in clear water or around structure.
Start by matching or slightly exceeding your braid. 10 to 15lb for trout and panfish, 20 to 30lb for bass and inshore snook, reds, and trout, 40 to 60lb for tarpon, tuna, and anything toothy, 80 to 100lb for offshore and big structure. This is 100 percent fluorocarbon, not coated copolymer, so it sinks fast and holds its diameter.
The FG knot is the strongest and thinnest option and it passes through your guides without catching. A double uni with 6 to 8 wraps per side is easier to tie on the water and holds fine up to about 30lb. Wet every knot before you cinch it down. A dry knot burns the line, and that is where most break-offs actually happen, not in the middle of the leader.
Yes, and it is not a gimmick. Red and pink wavelengths are the first thing water absorbs, so pink goes gray and then invisible within the first several feet of depth while staying easy for you to track at the surface. Clear is the safest pick in gin-clear shallow water. Pink is the better pick when you want to see your leader on top.
Each spool is 50 yards. At 2 to 3 feet per leader that is roughly 50 to 75 leaders, which is a full season for most anglers unless you are re-tying all day around structure. Store it out of direct sunlight and it will not go brittle.
