Wouldn't cut my 80 or 100 pound mono at all. Struggled bad cutting knots with 30 pound mono. Cut through the 30 pound no knot ok. Braid it's great with my 80 pound and 10 pound. Love it for the braid. About it though. Wouldn't advertise it for mono

The retractable leash is great. The blades are sharp, but too much flex in the handles will not cut large mono handles flex too much so makes it impossible to cut anything other then braid.

This is by far the BEST set of cutters I've used. The serrated/shear blade combo works flawlessly time and time again unlike most other brands. Doesn't matter the type of line, clean cut the first time every time. Not to mention the durability in the materials. I HIGHLY recommend to any angler fresh or salt water.
