Yes. The serrated center blade cuts braid, mono, fluorocarbon, and steel wire cleanly. Use the base of the blade rather than the tip.
They are high-grade stainless with a corrosion-resistant coating, but salt beats everything eventually. Rinse and dry after every saltwater trip and oil the pivot and spring. Do not store them wet in a sheath or a closed bag.
They are built for standard inshore and freshwater terminal tackle. For heavy-gauge offshore singles and big circle hooks in tough fish, step up to a heavier plier.

Really impressed with the product. My only concern is. I wish it came with a holster and a security clip and or cable I can say is I wish it came with a security clip and holster but unfortunately it didn’t or I didn’t receive one. Wish I had one for both.

Well, The pliers are ok but I ordered 2 1000 yd spools of 20lb camo braid. The pliers I ordered was to get me over the limit to get free shipping. Like the line but not sure why the order didnt go through, Sent an Email just to make sure the line was on the way but never got a response. Some of the problem may have been on me but I did follow up on the line then reordered to make sure It was received. Site is a little confusing but hopefully the line will get here soon...have 7 rods to re-spool.
Been using them on the bench to change out a bunch of hooks that I’ve been putting off. Best split ring pliers for the money and I haven’t even got them in the boat yet. I see a new best tool in the boats future!
I have not used the pliers yet but I think they will work very well for smaller fish with smaller hooks. It is too small for big fish using big hooks like Red Drum from the surf. I recommend that Beyond Braid make a heavier duty plier for that purpose. Also, and this a big problem, Beyond Braid should make a sheaf to accompany the pliers (are at least be available for separate purchase). I think a holster-style sheaf where it hangs from the belt is far better than one that won't hang and has to be cinched tight to the body. The second kind of belt is a pain to use in hot weather and if you are a little (or more) overweight. Good luck.

These pliers feel great in the hand, great spring open tension. But any time you need to grab a hook and twist to remove from a fish, the plier jaws twist due to the aluminum material and the slim profile. Not enough back bone.
28 days after purchase apparently it's too much to warranty a set of pliers that look a year old! Surface rust and corrosion with normal maintenance after each trip offshore! Highly disappointed as these were a gift for a young Mate as High School Graduation present!
flimsy too lightweight cutting edge is excellent though but I bought the scissors for that guys
